Polka-Dots

Hi everyone!

I've been loving polka dots recently so I thought I'd share my most recent dotty look.  The dots are done with a dotting tool dipped into OPI Mermaid's Tears.  I put a matte top coat over the look to give it some flare :)

Variety Nails

Sorry I've been gone so long! My schedule has kept me busy and away from blogging recently but I've still been able to keep up painting my nails!

Here are some of the nails looks that I've been wearing these days:

Happy Halloween!

This isn't the typical post...but in the spirit of this ooky spooky time of year, I thought I'd share my Halloween costume.  It was so much fun to wear and hardly anyone recognized me with the wig! Can you guess what I am??

See you next time!

Back to School Nails

It's that time of year again to go back to school!! In honor of my first day of school, I painted my ring fingers and thumbs so they looked like tiny lined pieces of notebook paper! I used a striper nail polish to do the striping.

I'll see you next time! And good luck with your own start to autumn!

Ocean Cloud Nails

Some of my most popular nails have been my cloud nails so I thought I'd try them again in a different color scheme! Enjoy!

Nail Stickers

Sorry long time, no blog!

So I've had a few packages of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips laying around and I finally decided to give it a try! The design I used is called Mod About You. The application was fairly simple and the results were pretty good! Also, it doesn't say in the directions to do this but I added my own top coat on top of the strips because I want them to last extra long! Since I'm pretty rough on my nails, we'll see how long they really can last...

Here they are!

Happy (Belated) 4th of July!!

Hey all!

I was out of town this past week so I didn't have the chance to show off my 4th of July goodies...until now!

For my nails, I did a splatter look using red, white, and blue. I blew through a straw to get the cool splattered look. Beware because this technique was pretty messy!

I also worked on a 4th of July craft this week that I found here on YouTube. It was pretty simple but definitely time consuming!

I hope you all had a safe and fun holiday!! Thanks for stopping by!

Sparkly Gradient Nails

Hi all!

Here is a sparkly gradient that I did on my nails recently.  I painted a couple layers of OPI Mermaid's Tears and took a makeup sponge and dabbed on Sephora by OPI Spark-tacular! When I was dabbing on the sparkles, I concentrated most of it on the tips of my nails so that it would create a gradient effect.
Enjoy!

Coasters

Hi Everyone!

I was recently looking through pinterest and a few craft blogs for a good simple craft when I stumbled upon this.  It's a really fun and easy way to make coasters with only two supplies.

So let's get started...

I got these paint pens from Michael's in both blue and silver in case I wanted to try different colors.  Unfortunately, the silver paint pen ended up looking very translucent on the cork.

I found these cork coasters from my local craft store, Beverly's.  I didn't look to see if Michael's had these but I'm sure that you could find them in most craft stores.  They also had square coasters if you like that shape better.

I just got creative with my designs and had fun with it! So there you go! Simple and waterproof coasters!

Dolphin Sunset

Hey All!

I follow a nail artist on YouTube and she posts great nail inspirations all the time.  One of her most recent ones was this cool video.  I tried to copy it and here are the results...Not quite as neat as hers but I was still pretty impressed with myself haha.  By the way, the big black blobs on my ring finger is supposed to be a dolphin!

Thanks and I'll see you next time!

Graduation!

Hey Everybody!

I hope you're all doing well during this month of June! I graduated this past weekend and I can't tell you how much all your love and support means to me.

At my school, there is a tradition to decorate your graduation cap. I'm not sure if this technically qualifies as a craft but there was puffy paint involved so I think I can count it as a craft for this week.

Watermelons

Hey everyone!

Can you believe that summer is almost here?! I'm getting so excited to enjoy all of my favorite summer activities soon! One of the things I like to do during the summer is slice up a big juicy watermelon and eat it by the pool! Unfortunately, I don't have a pool and I haven't been to the grocery store in a while to get a watermelon...but I do have nail polish!  For this watermelon nail design, I used OPI Come to Poppy, Sally Hansen Teal, and a black nail striper.

See you next time!

Crafts...what?!

Hey all!

So technically I started this blog with the intention that it would be about nails AND my crafting adventures.  Unfortunately, the past few months I haven't had much access to crafting supplies and whatnot.  But I promise that as soon as summer rolls around, I'll be getting real crafty up in here! At least I'll try...

So recently I've been taking a ceramics class which I thought was close enough to a craft so I thought I'd share a sampling of some of my creations.  At the beginning of the class, I struggled...a lot.  Therefore, I'm only showing you the creations that I think at least resemble something close to okay.  Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by! And I promise there will be more craft updates soon!

Pink & Black "Lace" Nails

Hey everyone!

So this weekend I'm attending a formal event so I decided to do some fancy nails! For the pink base I used OPI Feelin' Hot-Hot-Hot and then I used a basic black to do the "lace." I used my konad stamper kit but unfortunately, I don't actually own a lace stamp so I improvised and used this curly flower vine stamp.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks post! See you next time!

How to Paint Your Nails

Hey all!

So I've been getting a few questions from people asking how to paint their nails without making a mess on their cuticles.  This is a diagram that I've seen floating around the internet on sites like Pinterest and other nail blogs.  I think it does a great job of showing how simple it can be to paint your nails and stick within "the lines."

Although this diagram is not an original work of mine, the original author, Lacquerized, can be found at this website.

Thanks and see you next time!

Scribbles

Hey Everyone!

This nail look is fun and easy but it still gives some great pizzazz to your nails.  I painted my nails with Island Girl Aloha Dream that I got in Hawaii a couple years ago.  Its so fun and bright and definitely fits my mood recently!   Then I took a Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in white and scribbled a few horizontal lines per nail and voilà!

Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!!

P.S. Sorry for the disastrous cuticles! Its been a stressful couple of weeks!

Stripes

Hey there!

So this week I did a fun stripe-y nail look.  I painted every finger except for my ring finger and thumb with Essie Ole Caliente.  I painted my thumb and ring finger with OPI Suzi and the Lifeguard.  Then after letting my thumb and ring finger dry, I cut up pieces of tape and laid them horizontally on those two fingers.  I painted over the tape withe Ole Caliente again and let that dry.  After that, I just peeled the tape off and I had stripes, easy peasy.

Thanks for tuning in! Have a wonderful weekend!

Cloud Nails

Hey all!

So this is a fun nail look that I did for a sunny weekend here! I used OPI Suzi & The Lifeguard for a pink base. In order to create the "clouds," I dipped the end of a makeup brush in Essie Ole Caliente and Essie Lilacism and made big dots/blobs on the tips of my nails. I put Ole Caliente on and then layered with Lilacism to create multi colored clouds.

Interview Nails

Hey everyone!

So this week I went to an interview and I was having a really hard time coming up with a cool idea for my nails that was interview worthy but still fun. I came up with this idea to do a pink base with a gradient of golden sparkles. In order to do the gradient, I used a makeup sponge to apply OPI Up Front and Personal. I used the sponge because in theory, it is supposed to help make the sparkles build up gradually on the tips of my nails, kind of like this example.

For some reason, my gradient idea was a fail and it ended up looking just like I painted golden sparkles on like normal. But here's the final look:

It definitely did not come out like I was hoping it would but it worked well for the interview that I went to. Stay tuned though because I have some more great looks coming soon!

Everyday Spring Looks

Hey everyone!

Its a new quarter for me and I'm definitely loving the springy-ness! The countdown for graduation has begun which means I'll try to post new nail looks or crafts whenever I can, but don't get fussy with me if I get busy with school.

So here are some of my nail polish looks that I've worn in the past few weeks! Enjoy!

This look is with China Glaze For Audrey and Sally Hansen Gem Crush Showgirl Chic on my ring finger.

This was the look I wore for Easter! They reminded me of cute lil' Easter eggs! The colors I used were OPI What's with the Cattitude?, Sally Hansen Lightening, NYC Polyester Pink Creme, Essie Lilacism, and OPI Gargantuan Green Grape.

For Easter I got a new green to add to the collection from my boyfriend's (wonderful) mama. This look is done with Essie Navigate Her with a sparkly blue nail polish from Forever 21 on top (super cheap!). This one actually reminds me of a mermaid or seaweed or something summery!

That's all for now and I'll be back soon with more updates!

Feeling Green

Top of the morning to you! Its almost St. Patrick's Day!

To honor my favorite green holiday, I've come up with a few nail polish looks to wear around town!

The first look has a base of Essie Da Bush with Konad plate m64 and Sally Hansen Fairy Teal on my ring finger.

The second look is using NYC Big Money Frost (super cheap at the drug store!) and OPI Up Front and Personal.

Have a fun and safe St. Patricks Day!

Some Favorites

Hey all!

My good friend Suzanne recently passed this article along to me about the newly released Spring Must Haves nail polish by Lucky Magazine.  In light of the magazine's favorites, I thought I'd share some of my all time favorite nail polish products!

Seche Clear and Seche Vite are my favorite base and top coats.  They are both super protective and the top coat has a great shine to it.

Drying Drops by Nicole by OPI have literally been a lifesaver.  They dry my nails lightening fast so when I have no patience (aka all the time) I can put these drops on my newly painted nails and bam! they're ready to go.

These are my absolute favorite pinks.  The one on the left is OPI Come to Poppy and the one on the right is Sally Hansen Shrimply Devine.  I've owned the Sally Hansen one for far too long but I absolutely love it!

These are my go to favorites if I want to add a little sparkle to my life.  Sally Hansen Gem Crush Showgirl Chic is on the left.  OPI Up Front and Personal is on the right.  In my opinion, every nail polish beauty needs to own something sparkly for now and then (or for everyday).  I'm currently trying to get my hands on Lynnderella nail polish which is beyond sparkly and into the world of OMG ITS SO GLITTERFUL!!  If you've never heard of Lynnderella, I highly recommend googling it.

These last two are just some of the other colors that I tend to turn to most frequently.  On the left, OPI Mermaid's Tears from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection and on the right, Essie Lilacism.

See you next time!
